Aims & Objectives
  • This course is designed for practitioners of all levels with an interest in normal gait and pathologic gait associated with a variety of pediatric orthopaedic conditions.
  • Use of quantitative gait analysis for assessment and clinical decision-making.
  • Introduction to normal gait.
  • Introduce the various elements of Quantitative gait analysis and application of this approach to a variety of clinical conditions.
  • Case based examples to illustrate the principles and applications of 2D and 3D Gait Analysis in clinical situations.


Learning Objectives

Participants will:

  • understand the characteristics of normal gait and abnormal gait patterns
  • know when and why to refer a patient for 2D or 3D gait analysis
  • recognize and interpret specific patterns on kinematic/ kinetic graphs; understand their relevance
  • learn to use 2D and 3D gait analysis as practical tools in clinical decision making
